City of Mansfield
From manufacturers, to banks, to cities… our clients do not fall under any one umbrella. Similarly, the work we do for each client never looks quite the same. While many of our clients have audiences with specific demographics and other segmentation variables, the city of Mansfield has a vast audience that could include anyone who resides in the city. This requires us to think on a much broader scale when approaching specific projects for the city.

We have had the pleasure of designing two different websites for the city of Mansfield. First, we designed the website for the city itself. In order to create a website for something as broad as an entire city, it’s important to understand the needs of the potential audience. After working with the client to identify what an individual may visit the site for, we were able to design clear buttons on the homepage that will make a site visitor’s experience simple and easy. Upon opening the website, a visitor can choose to pay a bill online, turn on notifications, report a concern, take a virtual tour of the city, or easily navigate a “How Do I?” section that aims to answer any further questions. Site visitors can also learn about government, community, services, news, and view a calendar by navigating drop down menus at the top of the page. We designed this website in an aesthetically pleasing, yet simple manner to accommodate for both the most and least tech-savvy users that might visit the site.
In addition to the city’s website, we also designed the website for the Mansfield Lahm Airport. When visiting each site, one will recognize that though the designs are different, the brand image remains the same. The Mansfield Lahm Airport website allowed us to be slightly more creative in our design efforts, including automated motion graphics that move with the site as you scroll. When visiting the airport website, users have access to both operational information about the airport and historical information tracing back to the airport’s beginnings.

Along with helping the city of Mansfield with their website development, we also have had the opportunity to complete unique programming projects. With the rise of COVID-19 inhibiting the city council’s ability to meet in person, the city saw a need for a virtual way for the council to meet and vote. Where the city saw a need, we saw a solution.
In order to help the Mansfield City Council solve the problem they were facing, we designed a web application that allows them to make the voting process virtual, yet easy. The web application allows for three different types of login. Depending on the login a user uses, they will either be the controller of the voting process, a voter, or will be able to run the display board, which is great for live streams, that shows the voting results. This allows the council to accurately and securely vote on important issues without having to gather in person.

Another web application that we designed for the city of Mansfield makes paying city taxes simple and easy for individuals. The app includes an interactive tax form that asks users a stream of questions which allows the program to autofill a tax form pdf based on their answers. This helps take the frustration and stress out of filing taxes and also leaves less room for error.
We find designing these very specific web applications to meet a client’s exact needs very rewarding. We love seeing the finished product of our work and how it brings solutions to the table in order to improve a business or organization and the way it functions.
